Pink translucent trigonal cobaltoan calcite crystals averaging 15 x 6 mm in size, with lighter internal phantoms visible under magnification. Fluorescent bright orange-pink under shortwave UV light. Some small nicks on edges and terminations visible under 10x magnification. “Limonite” staining on some crystal faces. From a recent find. An entire issue of the Mineralogical Record (Volume 38, Number 5, September – October, 2007, pages 345-407) was devoted to the mines and minerals of Bou Azzer, Morocco.
