This specimen consists of transparent colorless to purple cubic fluorite crystals to 1.1 cm across, sitting on a brown limonite matrix. The purple coloration is concentrated in the outer crystal zones, near the faces. Matrix stabilized. Some damage to one of the fluorite crystals can be seen in the upper left in the photos above; otherwise perfect. Rare and nice for this location. An excellent summary of this deposit is found in the special Mexico II issue of Mineralogical Record, Vol. 34, No. 5, September – October, 2003.
