PreviousNext GRO4032 - GROSSULAR in Wollastonite Skarn $165.00 Locality Rancho Carrizo, Sierra de Cruces, near Alicantes, Municipio de Sierra Mojada, Coahuila, Mexico Dimensions 70mm x 46mm x 40mm Size Small Cabinet This specimen features a pair of sharp raspberry-hued dodecahedral grossular crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm across, on a wollastonite skarn matrix. The backside of the largest grossular crystal is truncated naturally (as if there were originally another crystal adjacent to it), but this is not visible when the specimen is displayed as shown below. There are also a couple of partial yellow vesuvianite crystals present in the matrix. A good article about this occurrence was published in the Mineralogical Record, Volume 34, Number 6, November – December, 2003, pages 73-79 (Mexico III Issue).
